Mourning. Sorrow.

Today, 2009-07-29, my mother died. She had suffered from breast cancer for many years, but it finally broke her down the last weeks. As she wished, she died, feeling safe in her home, surrounded by her family, and kindly looked after by close friends. She had excellent care from the municipal home nursing service, and good medication lessened her pain. If one has to die from cancer, this is probably the way to do it.

Everybody has to go sometime. Still, this was too early, and we miss her so much.

I’ve lost a great many people in my life. Very few ever died with the wonderful care and support provided “in house” like that.

Be thankful. It’s hard when you lose a family member, let alone your Mom. But she’s at peace now.

I wish when my time comes that I have the same options and great care.

    Take care.

I am Per Buers wife. I have only met you a couple of times, but I have heard your poems, and you gave us a wonderful book for the kids, and Per has told me about you. You are a wonderful person. I am so sorry for your loss. You deserve all the best, and I so wish you all the best in the future.
