RPM packages of varnish-2.1.2

Varnish is a high performance web accelerator. For more information about varnish, see the project homepage.

I had just added varnish-2.1.1 to rawhide when the upstream team released a bugfix update varnish-2.1.2.

Rawhide is updated. I also built packages for RHEL5. You can download them at http://users.linpro.no/ingvar/varnish/2.1.2/, or from SourceForge.

Thank you for the RPMs. When you do another “varnish usage revisited” post, please consider us: http://www.almasryalyoum.com/en. We are a bilingual news website in Egypt.

Mentioning non English text, if you don’t mind I have a question: how can I handle non English URLs in varnish?

Copying the link directly to default.vcl using vim results in something like: %D9%AA … which prevents varnish from starting (when such a text is a regex for req.url ~).

Writing Arabic text manually by hand in varnish gets it starting fine but it doesn’t apply the if statement for such url.

I wonder how can I tell varnish to look at non-English url in if statements.
    Thank you :)

    I will

I think these questions are better answered on the varnish-misc mailing
list. That will give them a better audience (I’m no senior vcl expert
myself), and will make the answer searchable for other parties as well.

Please subscribe and try there. There is information about the lists at
